STORY: Footage showed a demolished nuclear cooling tower crashing down after a planned implosion on Thursday (September 18) morning in Hartsville, Tennessee.

Reuters was able to confirm the location and date of the footage by reports of local authorities.

The cooling tower was part of the cancelled Hartsville Nuclear Plant project, local media reported.

According to reports, the implosion took place around 6.30 am (11.30 am GMT).

The demolition used more than 900 pounds of explosives and took less than 10 seconds, according to local media.
