ORANGE, AUSTRALIA

STORY: The Australian town of Orange in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales enjoyed a late winter dusting of snow on Saturday (August 30) amid an Antarctic blast, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The weather agency said up to 10 cm (4 inches) of snow was recorded in Orange, as people in the area made the most of the snowfall, making snowballs and having snowball fights.

The Bureau of Meteorology said parts of New South Wales and Victoria were experiencing challenging conditions of cold, wind and snow and have issued a severe weather warning for the region.
