S001-UCRANIA REFUGIO CIVILES ATAQUES RUSOS
STORY: Tetiana Tymoshenko, a 47-year-old accountant, rushed to a Kyiv metro station with her dog Fil on Saturday (December 6) when she heard Russian drones were approaching the city.
Tymoshenko took shelter in the underground station, lined with tents and yoga mats, which has become a haven for thousands of residents during waves of Russian attacks.
Tymoshenko lost her apartment in April 2025 when a missile strike hit her building. She says repairs could take at least a year and a half.
“Russia simply won't stop until it destroys us,” she told Reuters when asked about prospects for peace talks.
Russian drone and missile attacks hit energy infrastructure in eight Ukrainian regions overnight, causing blackouts, Ukraine's energy ministry said on Saturday.
Power and heat generation facilities in the Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions were targeted in the attack, Ukraine's ministry for development of communities and territories said.
