S001-LIBANO NUEVOS ATAQUES DE ISRAEL
STORY: Explosions and projectiles lit the sky of southern Lebanon in the early hours of Saturday (May 2), as Israel intensifies its campaign in the area.
A series of Israeli strikes hit the southern Lebanese governorate of Nabatieh on Friday (May 1), the Lebanese national news agency reported.
The strikes, according to state media, started less than an hour after the Israeli military issued evacuation orders for the area and left six dead and eight wounded.
Israeli strikes have killed more than 2,500 people in Lebanon and displaced more than 1.2 million since the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah began on March 2, according to Lebanese authorities.
The April 16 truce, which facilitated separate negotiations over the Iran war, stopped strikes on Beirut and its southern suburbs but not on other parts of Lebanon.
