Monte Kilauea (Hawái)

STORY: Molten lava sprayed out dramatically from the west and south craters of Hawaii's Kilauea volcano on Friday (October 17) after erupting a day earlier.

United States Geological Survey (USGS) cameras showed flows of lava converging together and carving through the landscape.

According to the USGS website, Kilauea is "one of the world's most active volcanoes" and has been erupting periodically since December 23, 2024.
