Ukrainian rescuers under strain searched through the rubble for victims at a missile strike site in Kyiv on Tuesday (June 17) after yet another Russian drone and missile barrage.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia sent more than 440 drones and 32 missiles at Ukraine. He described the destruction in Kyiv as among the "most horrific" in the capital during the war.

A psychologist of Ukraine's emergency services said that rescuers prioritised the search and rescue operation, with psychological support available afterward.

The emergency services said on Telegram that its psychologists had provided help to 44 people today, and that over 450 rescuers were working at several sites in the capital.

About 27 locations in the capital were hit during several waves of attacks throughout the night, and residential buildings, educational institutions, and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, officials said.
