M609-EEUU RUTTE APLAUDE LA AMENAZA DE TRUMP A RUSIA
STORY: NATO's Secretary General Mark Rutte praised on Monday (July 14) the newest tariffs threat against Russia announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Rutte was speaking during a Fox News interview and he said the initiative was "really significant."
U.S. President Donald Trump announced new weapons for Ukraine on Monday, and threatened sanctions on buyers of Russian exports unless Russia agrees a peace deal, a major policy shift brought on by frustration with Moscow's ongoing attacks on its neighbor.
But Trump's threat of sanctions came with a 50-day grace period, a move that was welcomed by investors in Russia where the rouble recovered from earlier losses and stock markets rose.
Sitting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office, Trump told reporters he was disappointed in Russian President Vladimir Putin and that billions of dollars of U.S. weapons would go to Ukraine.

“This is significant. So today, if you are in Beijing or in Delhi or you are in Brazil and you know that this is coming to you, you might want to call Vladimir Putin and say: 'Hey, friend, we are still buying stuff from you, but you have got to get serious when it comes to these negotiations on the ceasefire or a peace deal or otherwise we get hit by these secondary sanctions that will affect directly on Russia', of course. But this is really significant and it is smartly designed by the president.”
