STORY: Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building in New York, the city's headquarters for the Department of Homeland Security, on Monday (June 9) to denounce ongoing immigration sweeps by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Chanting “No ICE, no KKK, no fascist USA,” demonstrators held banners reading “Torch fascism,” “Disrupt. Disobey.,” and “No one is illegal on stolen land.” The protest drew a strong police presence, with officers forming a line in front of the crowd.

The demonstration was part of a broader wave of protests nationwide in response to the detention of immigrant workers and recent ICE raids. Protesters called for an end to what they described as militarized enforcement targeting vulnerable communities.
