M078-ISRAEL SUENAN SIRENAS 7 DE OCTUBRE
Israelis came to a standstill on Tuesday (October 7) as memorial sirens marking the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks sounded at various sites across the country.
The "civil" siren initiative, held at the site of the Nova music festival, at the iconic Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, near the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem where hostages’ families have set up a protest camp, and in other locations, was organised by the "October Council," a group of bereaved families.
This year, the October 7 anniversary coincides with a Jewish holiday. While civil ceremonies were held on Tuesday, the official state Memorial Day will take place on October 16.
