M064-CISJORDANIA CELEBRACIONES RECONOCIMIENTO ESTADO PALESTINO
Palestinians rallied on Tuesday (September 23) across the West Bank to celebrate Western countries' recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Demonstrators marched in the cities of Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus a day after dozens of world leaders at the United Nations embraced a Palestinian state, a landmark diplomatic shift after nearly two years of war that faces fierce resistance from Israel and its close ally the United States.
Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal all recognised a Palestinian state on Sunday (September 21) in a move borne out of frustration over the Gaza war and intended to promote a two-state solution, prompting a furious response from Israel.
France, Belgium and Monaco also formally recognised the State of Palestine on Monday evening.
The decision aligns these Western nations with more than 140 other countries also backing Palestinians' aspiration to forge an independent homeland from the occupied territories.
Israel's government has declared there will be no Palestinian state as it fights the militant group Hamas in Gaza following its October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people, according to Israeli tallies.
Israel has drawn global condemnation over its military conduct in Gaza, where more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to local health authorities.

Our message is to the people, the people who unfortunately shut their ears, mouth and eyes to see the truth and speak the truth, to not hear the facts; the genocide in the Gaza Strip, the death of the children of Gaza because of the starvation, their death due to the siege, the deaths of the elderly, women, children, men and the youths and all the people in Gaza Strip."
