M061-EEUU LLEGADA DE TRUMP A LA ONU
United States President Donald Trump arrived at the United Nations on Tuesday (September 23) for his address to the General Assembly.
Trump made a high-profile entrance marked by a brief mishap when the escalator carrying him and his wife Melania suddenly stopped working. The couple walked the remaining steps.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, speaking to reporters earlier, said Washington was committed to engaging with the U.N. but emphasized the need for reform.
"We recognize the importance of the U.N., the importance of the world working together - but it must be functional, efficient. It must reach the people who really need it. It must be rapid," Bruce told reporters, quoting Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s call to "operate at the speed of relevancy."
