M050-ISRAEL NETANYAHU OBJETIVOS GUERRA
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday (August 5) there were three tasks to complete in Gaza, in a video from his visit to a military recruiting base in central Israel.
"It is still necessary to complete the defeat of the enemy in Gaza, to release all our hostages, to ensure that Gaza it will no longer pose a threat to Israel," Netanyahu reiterated the government's stated war aims.
The video was shared by the Government's Press Office, as he was set to convene his security cabinet to decide on Israel's next steps in Gaza following the collapse of indirect ceasefire talks with Hamas.
Netanyahu is leaning towards an expanded offensive and taking control of the entire enclave after 22 months of war against militant group Hamas, Israeli Channel 12 reported.
