STORY: The Pentagon released on Monday (March 2) videos of U.S. aircraft, including B-1 bombers, conducting flight operations as strikes on Iran continue.

Accompanying information released by the Pentagon was limited. U.S. Central Command declined to provide locations, but stated "U.S. B-1 bombers struck deep inside Iran to degrade Iranian ballistic missile capabilities." It did not identify other aircraft in the video but stated, "the Nimitz-class aircraft carreir USS Abraham Lincoln conducts flight operation in support of Operation Epic Fury." Reuters could not verify the location and the date when the videos were filmed. No older versions of the video were found posted online before Monday (March 2, 2026).

The videos were released as the conflict continues to escalate. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States is not postured for ground forces in Iran at this moment but U.S. President Donald Trump has those options, adding that the administration believes that the objective it has set can be achieved without ground forces. Additionally, The U.S. Central Command said on Monday that six U.S. service members have been killed in the conflict with Iran.
