Several aircraft were destroyed in the south of Iran's Isfahan province during a U.S. mission to find a stranded airman, Iranian military officials said on Sunday (April 5).

Video released by Iranian police was said to show Iranian forces firing at a U.S. aircraft over the province.

Reuters confirmed the location from the shape and position of the mountains, which matched topography mapping, satellite imagery, and previous material verified by Reuters. The exact date when the video was recorded could not be verified, but no older version was found posted online before April 6, 2026.

Iranian media reported that several aircraft were destroyed during a U.S. mission to find a stranded airman in Iran, according to a statement by the Revolutionary Guards on Sunday, April 5. The type of aircraft seen flying in the video could not be independently verified.

The footage also appeared to show members of the Iranian military standing near the wreckage of an aircraft, examining debris and equipment.
