Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video as Rosporden from the pavement, the pond and the trees, which matched street view imagery of the area. The date when the video was recorded was verified by a statement from the mayor of Rosporden on August 24.

The pilot, the officer aboard the helicopter, and a witness were taken to a local hospital, with no fatalities reported, according to a statement by the local municipality.

Authorities immediately took measures to contain risk of pollution, Mayor Michel Loussouarn said in a statement on social media.
