U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday (July 27) that the U.S. has been having "very friendly" talks with Iran.

"You can't bribe them. You've got to beat them, and we'll beat the hell out of them. But we'll see how it turns out," he said at rally in Michigan. "Right now, there are very friendly negotiations going on."

What you did?’ After we won in about 48 minutes, approximately, they said ‘oh, that was a good move.’ Well, the same thing is happening in Iran. People just don't see it. We have destroyed their navy. We've destroyed their air force. We've destroyed their leadership. We've destroyed their antiaircraft weaponry. Their drones are being made at a rate of about 7%. We destroyed most of their drone manufacturing capability. Their missile manufacturing capability. And right now, they're talking to us about making a deal. But if we didn't do it tough, there would be no talks.”
