2. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:
"I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, which achieves our war aims. It will bring back to Israel all our hostages, dismantle Hamas's military capabilities, end its political rule, and ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel."
3. NETANYAHU SPEAKING AT PRESS CONFERENCE
4. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:
"Your plan is consistent with the five principles my government set for the end of the war and the day after Hamas. Everybody asks, 'what is your plan for the day after Hamas?' Here's our plan. Pass it in the cabinet. All our hostages, both those who are alive and those who died, all of them, will return home immediately. Hamas will be disarmed. Gaza will be demilitarized. Israel will retain security responsibility, including a security perimeter for the foreseeable future. And lastly, Gaza will have a peaceful civilian administration that is run neither by Hamas nor by the Palestinian Authority."
5. NETANYAHU SPEAKING AT PRESS CONFERENCE
6. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:
"But if Hamas rejects your plan, Mr. President, or if they supposedly accept it and then basically do everything to counter it, then Israel will finish the job by itself. This can be done the easy way, or it can be done the hard way, but it will be done. We prefer the easy way, but it has to be done."
President Trump said on Monday they were "beyond very close" to forging an elusive peace deal and that he hoped Hamas militants would also accept it. (9036-ISRAEL-PALESTINIANS/TRUMP-DEAL)

8. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:
“But if accepted by Hamas, this proposal calls for the release of all remaining hostages immediately. But in no case, more than 72 hours. So the hostages are coming back."
9. TRUMP SPEAKING
10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:
“And it means the immediate end to the war itself, not just Gaza. It's the war itself. Under the plan, Arab and Muslim countries have committed, in writing in many cases, but I actually would take their word for the people I mentioned I take their word for it, to demilitarize Gaza, and that's quickly. Decommission the military capabilities of Hamas and all of the terror organizations, do that immediately. And we're relying on the countries that I named and others to deal with Hamas. And I'm hearing that Hamas wants to get this done too. And that's a good thing.”
11. TRUMP SPEAKING
12. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:
“To ensure the success of this effort, my plan calls for the creation of a new international oversight body, the Board of Peace, we call it the Board of Peace, sort of a beautiful name, the Board of Peace, which will be headed not at my request, believe me, I'm very busy. But we have to make sure this works. The leaders of the Arab world and Israel and everybody involved asked me to do this. So it'd be headed by a gentleman known as President Donald J. Trump of the United States. That's what I want, it’s some extra work to do, but it's so important that I'm willing to do it and will do it right. And we're going to put leaders from other countries on and leaders that are very distinguished leaders. And we'll have a board. And one of the people that wants to be on the board is the U.K. former prime minister Tony Blair. Good man, very good man and some others. And they'll be named over the next few days.”
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday (September 29) that it is time for Palestinian militant group Hamas to accept a 20-point peace proposal that he agreed to with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the future of Gaza. (9058-ISRAEL-PALESTINIANS-TRUMP-PLAN)

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 09/29/25
President Donald J. Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict
1. Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.
2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.
3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.
4. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned."
15. SCREENSHOT OF DOCUMENT READING (English):
"5.Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1700 Gazans who were detained after October 7th 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.
6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.
7. Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with what was included in the January 19, 2025, agreement regarding humanitarian aid, including rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads.
8. Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions not associated in any manner with either party. Opening the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the January 19, 2025 agreement."
16. SCREENSHOT OF DOCUMENT READING (English):
"9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the “Board of Peace,” which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, with other members and heads of State to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump’s peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.
10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created by convening a panel of experts who have helped birth some of the thriving modern miracle cities in the Middle East. Many thoughtful investment proposals and exciting development ideas have been crafted by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesize the security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza."
17. SCREENSHOT OF DOCUMENT READING (English):
"11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.
12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.
13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors. New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors.
14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people."
18. SCREENSHOT OF DOCUMENT READING (English):
"15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. The ISF will train and provide support to vetted Palestinian police forces in Gaza, and will consult with Jordan and Egypt who have extensive experience in this field. This force will be the long-term internal security solution. The ISF will work with Israel and Egypt to help secure border areas, along with newly trained Palestinian police forces. It is critical to prevent munitions from entering Gaza and to facilitate the rapid and secure flow of goods to rebuild and revitalize Gaza. A deconfliction mechanism will be agreed upon by the parties.
16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will withdraw based on standards, milestones, and timeframes linked to demilitarization that will be agreed upon between the IDF, ISF, the guarantors, and the Unites States, with the objective of a secure Gaza that no longer poses a threat to Israel, Egypt, or its citizens. Practically, the IDF will progressively hand over the Gaza territory it occupies to the ISF according to an agreement they will make with the transitional authority until they are withdrawn completely from Gaza, save for a security perimeter presence that will remain until Gaza is properly secure from any resurgent terror threat."
19. SCREENSHOT OF DOCUMENT READING (English):
"17. In the event Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the scaled-up aid operation, will proceed in the terror-free areas handed over from the IDF to the ISF.
18. An interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis by emphasizing the benefits that can be derived from peace.
19. While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.
20. The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence."

21. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTIVIST IN THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE RELEASE OF HOSTAGES HELD BY HAMAS IN GAZA, TSIPI HAITOVKSY, SAYING:
"It's looks like finally, finally finally, we have a deal to end the war, the bloody war in Gaza and bring all our people back home. This is very, very good news. President Trump, like he said, is totally committed to bringing peace and prosperity to this region. And this can only start with the ending of the war in Gaza and bringing back all our people."
22. (SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) HANNAH COHEN, AUNT OF INBAR HAIMAN WHOSE BODY BEING THE ONLY FEMALE HOSTAGE STILL HELD HOSTAGE IN GAZA, SAYING:
"I am more optimistic. I'm more optimistic though I'm still a bit afraid to be this optimistic. I'm afraid to be again disappointed. I'm really afraid. We have learnt through suffering and very bad experience of deals who were coming together and then blew up in our faces. But I want to keep optimistic that maybe finally our nightmare will end."

In the name of God the merciful and compassionate.
Statement issued by the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, commander Ziad al-Nakhala
What was announced in the news conference between Trump and Netanyahu is an agreement between America and Israel, and it is an expression of the position of Israel entirely, and a recipe for continue aggression on the Palestinian people. Because of that, Israel is trying to impose through the United States what they could not achieve with war. For that, we consider the American-Israeli announcement a recipe to blow up the region. Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad - Ziad al-Nakhala."
25. SCREENSHOT OF POST FROM ISRAELI OPPOSITION POLITICIAN, BENNY GANTZ, READING (English): "
I laud President Trump’s extraordinary efforts to secure a hostage deal and safeguard Israeli security. Now is the time for initiative. President Trump’s plan must be implemented, our hostages brought home, Israel’s operational freedom maintained, Hamas’ terror regime in Gaza replaced and moderate Arab States instated instead as I proposed a year and a half ago. We must not miss out on the opportunity to bring back the hostages, safeguard our security and catalyse a ‘Strategic Flip’ expanding the circles of regional normalisation."

Hamas has no choice but to immediately release all hostages and follow this plan. These elements must pave the way for in-depth discussions with all relevant partners to build a lasting peace in the region, based on the two-state solution and on the principles endorsed by 142 UN member states, at the initiative of France and Saudi Arabia. 28. SCREENSHOT OF X POST FROM TONY BLAIR INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL CHANGE, SHOWING STATEMENT FROM INSTITUTE'S CEO AND FORMER BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, TONY BLAIR READING (English):
President Trump has put down a bold and intelligent plan which, if agreed, can end the war, bring immediate relief to Gaza, the chance of a brighter and better future for its people, while ensuring Israel’s absolute and enduring security and the release of all hostages.
It offers us the best chance of ending two years of war, misery and suffering, and I thank President Trump for his leadership, determination and commitment.
In particular, his willingness to chair the Board of Peace to oversee the new Gaza is a huge signal of support and confidence in the future of Gaza, of the possibility of Israelis and Palestinians finding a path to peace, and of the potential for a broader regional and global alliance to counter the forces of extremism and promote peace and prosperity between nations.”
29. VARIOUS OF X POST FROM BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, KEIR STARMER, SHOWING STATEMENT READING (English):
"The new US initiative to deliver an end to the war in Gaza is profoundly welcome and I am grateful for President Trump’s leadership. We strongly support his efforts to end the fighting, release the hostages and ensure the provision of urgent humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza. This is our top priority and should happen immediately. We call on all sides to come together and to work with the US Administration to finalise this agreement and bring it into reality. Hamas should now agree to the plan and end the misery, by laying down their arms and releasing all remaining hostages. Together with our partners, we will continue work to build consensus to put into place a permanent ceasefire. We are all committed to a collective effort to end the war in Gaza and deliver a sustainable peace, where Palestinians and Israelis can live side by side in safety and security."

"Well, I think that any proposal that ends the conflict in Gaza and prevents further civilian casualties is a positive development. I think that it is a win for everybody. President Trump gets to have his peace deal. He will also serve along with the former prime minister of Great Britain will serve on the the Peace Council or the peace board. The conflict will end for the Palestinians. The Israelis can also retrieve their hostages and those who died in captivity. And eventually, I think if everything goes well, Palestinians will be able to govern their own."

32. (SOUNDBITE)(English) DR. SINA AZODI, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MIDDLE EAST POLITICS AT GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, SAYING:
"I think that eventually they [HAMAS] have to [AGREE TO PEACE PLAN]. There is no other choice. I mean, everybody agrees that Hamas cannot and should not have any role in the future of Gaza. So I think that that's a settled issue. So I don't think they have any other choice unless they really want to bring more bloodshed and resist."
