STORY: Residents of the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv picked through the ruins of their home on Tuesday (August 4), a day after a Russian Shahed drone struck the area overnight, killing one person and injuring seven others, according to the region's acting governor. Thirty-five-year-old Viktor, who only gave his first name, held his young daughter outside what remained of his destroyed home, recounting how the family fled barefoot through shattered glass in the moments after impact. Viktor said his eldest daughter survived with minor cuts after her room was destroyed, while he was briefly trapped with his wife and their younger daughter by debris that fell from the ceiling.
