Mexican authorities recovered three bodies near a stream in Baja California on Monday (October 12), and five other people were still missing after Storm Rachel made landfall over the weekend.

Officials suspect the deaths were caused by the flooding.

The dead included two women and a minor, Public Security Director Omar Alejandro Monreal said.

Crews were searching for a 13-year-old, the last missing member of one family, he said, while search operations continued for members of a second family.
