M005-AGUAS INTERNACIONALES ATAQUE EMBARCACION
STORY: The U.S. military said it killed one person in a strike on a "low-profile vessel" suspected of carrying drugs in international waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Monday (December 22).
Aerial footage released by U.S. Southern Command showed strikes on a vessel in what they say is the Eastern Pacific, part of an operation targeting narcotics trafficking routes.
Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the video was filmed. Upon checking this footage, no old results were found.
"Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a low-profile vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters," the U.S. Southern Command said on social media website X.
No U.S. military forces were harmed, it added.
