M004-BOLIVIA FUERTE NEVADA EN LA PAZ
Heavy snowfall disrupted parts of La Paz and El Alto on Monday (August 24), impacting highways, roads, fuel availability and flight schedules.
In the La Paz department, authorities advised drivers in affected areas to travel with caution amid snow and low visibility. The Bolivian Highway Administration restricted traffic on the Kalajahuira-Reten Pongo road section in the La Cumbre area.
Since Sunday (August 23), the Bolivian National Weather Service issued an orange alert in parts of La Paz, Oruro, Potosí and Cochabamba, in effect through Monday night.
At El Alto International Airport, flights were temporarily suspended and resumed later in the day, the Bolivian Airports and Air Navigation Services Administration (NAABOL) said. Footage showed travelers waiting at airport counters for information on flight status
