M003-EEUU MOMENTO RESCATE INUNDACIONES KANSAS
STORY: Crews with the Kansas City Fire Department rescued a woman clinging to a tree after flash floods swept through parts of the city on Monday (July 21).
According to local news reports, the rescue took place around 12:50 p.m. (1750 GMT) near West 101st Terrace, just north of Indian Creek and the Indian Creek Trail, after rising waters stranded the woman in a fast-moving current.
Firefighters launched a raft and successfully pulled her to safety.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill issued a Flash Flood Warning for several counties in the Kansas City metro area.
Water levels in Indian Creek and nearby streams were reported to be nearing flood stage, with widespread flooding expected in multiple locations.
