Eyewitness footage released Monday (June 16) shows smoke rising from a highway near Saveh, southwest of Iranian capital Tehran.

Large plumes of smoke can be seen in the video, shot from a moving vehicle, as Israeli airstrikes intensify across Iran.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video as Saveh from the road layout, the signs and the bridge, which matched satellite imagery of the area. The date when the video was recorded could not be verified independently.

Israel's military launched attacks on Friday (June 13) with the stated aim of wiping out Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
