L609-TURQUIA INCENDIOS
STORY: A new wildfire broke out in western Turkey on Sunday (July 13), less than two weeks after widespread blazes in the region were contained.
Hundreds of wildfires have broken out across Turkey this summer, forcing some 50,000 people to temporarily evacuate their homes across the country. Several of the blazes were in the Aegean coastal province of Izmir, where they killed two people in July.
Four planes, 13 helicopters and 34 fire trucks were battling the flames to contain the new fire in a forest in the Urla district of Izmir as soon as possible, the local forestry authority said earlier on Sunday.
