STORY: U.S. President Donald Trump took part in the post-match ceremony at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday (July 13), presenting the FIFA Club World Cup trophy to Chelsea following their commanding 3-0 win over Paris St. Germain in the tournament final.

Trump attended the match alongside First Lady Melania Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He was greeted with boos from parts of the crowd as he stepped onto the podium for the awards ceremony.

After the final whistle, Trump presented several individual honors, including the Golden Ball to Chelsea’s midfielder Cole Palmer and the Golden Glove to Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez. He and Infantino also handed out medals to referees, PSG’s squad, and the victorious Chelsea players and coaching staff.

The ceremony concluded with Trump and Infantino presenting the trophy to Chelsea, who celebrated on the pitch.

Chelsea’s Palmer was the star of the night, scoring twice and assisting once in a dominant first-half performance that left PSG reeling. The English side, winners of the 2021 edition in its previous format, controlled the match from start to finish and comfortably secured their second Club World Cup title.
