STORY: Residents of destroyed apartment block looked shocked while observing the rescuers clearing rubble of their apartments hit by Russian attack on Monday (June 23).

Russian drone and missile attacks in and around Kyiv overnight killed five people, injured scores, sparked fires in residential areas and damaged an entrance to a metro station that serves as a bomb shelter, Ukrainian officials said.

Russia launched 352 drones and 16 missiles overnight targeting the Ukrainian territory, Ukraine's air force said on Monday.

"The main direction of the attack was the city of Kyiv," the air force said on the Telegram messaging app.
