Drone footage captured by a Ukrainian military drone and released in recent days showed widespread destruction in the embattled city of Pokrovsk.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the videos as Pokrovsk from the buildings, the road layout and the football pitch, which matched satellite imagery of the area.

The date when the videos were recorded could not be verified independently.

The Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday (November 3) that its forces are advancing inside Pokrovsk.

Ukraine has rushed to reinforce its positions in the city. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday (November 2) that "there is fierce fighting in the city and on its approaches."

Reuters was unable to verify battlefield reports from either side due to reporting restrictions in the war zone.
