French police used tear gas to disperse migrants trying to leave the northern coast of France in an attempt to reach Britai on Monday (September 28).

The group of migrants, some carrying life jackets ran back up the beach after the intervention from police.

A slashed dinghy was left behind on the beach in Petit-Fort-Philippe, Gravelines.

In a separate incident, three people died including one child when attempting to cross the channel from France to the UK, local authorities said on Monday.
