STORY: CCTV footage shows the moment an Iranian missile hit Beersheba, in southern Israel, on Monday (March 2).

Up to 19 people were lightly injured and received medical treatment at the scene, the Israeli ambulance service Magen David Adom (MADA) said.

The U.S. and Israel launched attacks against Iran on Saturday, triggering retaliatory strikes across the region from Tehran and killed the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In the third day of the military operation, Israel launched a new wave of air attacks on Tehran to which Iran retaliated with more missile barrages.

Reuters was able to confirm the location as Beersheba from the towers, buildings, road layout and vegetation which matched file and satellite imagery of the area.

The date was verified by the datestamp on the surveillance footage. Timestamp on the footage appears to be in GMT as there are reports of the strike happening around 12:45 local time. At 10:50 GMT, the Beersheba Municipality reported that following the siren heard across the city, a missile fired from Iran made a direct hit in a neighborhood. Israeli emergency services and Israeli media confirmed there was a strike in Beersheba on Monday (March 2)
