Riot police clashed with protesters in the Paris north-west suburb of Sartrouville on Monday (October 5) as protests over poor education conditions and funding continued across France.

Fireworks, tear gas and smoke bombs were fired during confrontations between protesters and law enforcement.

Reuters verified the location from the school, buildings, road layout and trees seen in the video, which matched satellite and archive imagery of the area.

The date when the video was recorded was verified by the metadata on the original video files.
