L064-RUSIA PUTIN ASEGURA VICTORIA CONTRA UCRANIA
President Vladimir Putin met leaders and members of State Duma outgoing 2021-2026 line-up (Russia's parliament lower house) on Monday (July 27). Putin used the gathering to praise Russia's economic resilience and reaffirm his commitment to achieving Russia's goals in the Ukraine conflict.
"We will achieve our goals, and together we will do everything necessary to secure victory for Russia," Putin said.
Speaking about the resilience of Russia's economy, Putin also warned lawmakers about the risks posed by rising inflation. The Central Bank raised its 2026 inflation forecast to between 6% and 7%, up from a previous forecast of 4.5% to 5.5%, at its key rate-setting meeting last week.
During the meeting, Putin presented state awards to the leaders of the Duma's factions and the heads of Duma committees.
