French President Emmanuel Macron met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Paris on Monday (July 13), as leaders of the so-called 'Coalition of the Willing' for Ukraine were set to hold talks in the French capital.

Ukraine will present its anti-ballistic programme to European allies during the meetings in Paris, Zelenskiy said earlier, as the country seeks to protect its vulnerable skies from Russian missile strikes.

Western allies are seeking to secure more air-defense commitments for Ukraine during the talks, as shortages have left it increasingly exposed to Russian ballistic missiles, despite recent shifts in momentum on the battlefield.

Zelenskiy will be joined by at least 25 leaders for a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, part of broader efforts that include putting together a common position that could be taken to Russia, and security guarantees to support any eventual peace deal.

Monday's meeting comes days after a NATO summit that aimed to show transatlantic unity and long-term support for Ukraine.
