L064-EGIPTO LIDERES CUMBRE
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met leaders from Europe and the Middle East and held talks on Monday (October 13) ahead of a summit aimed at building conditions for a lasting peace in Gaza.
Earlier on Monday, Hamas released the last 20 surviving Israeli hostages under a ceasefire deal brokered with U.S. President Donald Trump, who hailed it as “a new beginning”. The accord includes reciprocal releases of Palestinian detainees and is tied to Trump’s 20-point plan for peace.
Over 20 world leaders will weigh next steps toward ending a war that has killed more than 67,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza health officials.
