Welsh choir Only Men Aloud honoured pop singer Bonnie Tyler at her Swansea Minster memorial service on Monday (August 17) with a choral rendition of Tyler’s quintessential hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.

The funeral service was also marked by the singers performing Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge over Troubled Water” along with more traditional hymns.

A three-part eulogy was delivered by church minister Reverend Canon Justin Davies, and Tyler's collaborators and friends: talent scout Roger Bell and tour manager Matthew Davies.

Famed for 1980s power ballads such as "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero", Tyler died at the age of 75 on July 8.

She underwent emergency intestinal surgery in May while in Faro, southern Portugal, where she had a home.

Tyler was born Gaynor Hopkins in south Wales in 1951 and came to prominence in 1977.
