Trees were downed in Scotland as northern parts of the UK were hit by an unseasonably strong storm on Monday (August 4).

Britain's Met Office issued amber and yellow weather warnings for much of the north of the UK.

They said it was likely some coastal parts may see winds of over 80 miles per hour.
