STORY: Ukraine’s military intelligence released footage on Monday (September 1) it says shows drone strikes on two Russian Mi-8 helicopters and a tugboat in Crimea.

Reuters was able to partially confirm the location of the video as Simferopol from the airport layout, the buildings and the utility poles, which matched satellite imagery of the area. The date when the video was recorded could not be independently verified.

The military intelligence said in a post in social media the attacks were carried out by its "Ghosts" special unit and claimed the strikes damaged assets worth tens of millions of dollars. Reuters could not independently verify the extent of the damage.
