Russia's defense ministry said on Monday (September 29) that its forces had taken control of the village of Shandryholove in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.

The MOD released footage on Monday showing Russian troops setting off grenades and firing into buildings and a church, before waving the Russian flag.

Reuters was able to verify the location as Shandryholove in some of the shots in the video, from the road layout, buildings and trees which matched satellite imagery.

The date filmed was not verified but Russia's defense ministry said on Monday (September 29) its forces had taken control of the village of Shandryholove in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.

Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles at Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine early on Sunday (September 28), killing at least four people and injuring dozens, in one of the most sustained attacks on the capital since the full-scale war began.
