Iranian authorities released footage on Monday (August 31) showing what is purported to be missiles and drones launching.

They were being launched in what Tehran said was an operation targeting the King Hussein and Al-Azraq U.S. air bases in Jordan. Iranian authorities did not disclose the exact time or location of the launches shown in the video.

The footage emerged after U.S. forces struck two launchers on Iran's Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, in the first known American strikes on Iran since late July.

Iranian media, citing the Revolutionary Guards, said Tehran attacked the two U.S. bases in Jordan in retaliation, marking a further escalation in a Middle East conflict that has roiled oil markets.
