STORY: Supporters of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk gathered in the Kennedy Center on Sunday (September 14) for a vigil in his honor, days after he was fatally shot at an event in Utah.

Kirk was a prominent ally of President Donald Trump and a leading figure on the right. His death has intensified concerns about political violence in a polarized United States.

The vigil followed new details in the investigation into Kirk’s killing. Utah Governor Spencer Cox said the suspect, Tyler Robinson, 22, is not cooperating with authorities and is expected to be formally charged on Tuesday (September 16).

Investigators are working to establish a motive after Robinson allegedly fired a single long-range rifle shot from a rooftop at Utah Valley University during an outdoor event in Orem attended by roughly 3,000 people.
