Kiev, Ucrania

STORY: Ukrainians expressed scepticism on Monday (November 24) that peace talks in Geneva between Kyiv, the United States and European partners would end the war with Russia.

Many residents said they feared the proposals under discussion could weaken Ukraine, after earlier drafts reportedly included ceding territory and limiting military ambitions.

While some welcomed international engagement, others doubted any agreement would hold, citing past failures to deliver results.

Ukrainian chief negotiator and head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, described the talks as "highly productive" and pledged to continue discussions.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukraine would keep working with partners to strengthen U.S. proposals and ensure accountability for Russia.
