STORY: Russia launched drones on Ukraine's Odesa and hit residential buildings near the port, officials said on Monday (May 18), injuring an 11-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man.

The attack also struck two vessels near Odesa, Ukraine's main Black Sea export hub.

Ukrainian authorities said a Guinea-Bissau-flagged civilian vessel caught fire but quickly resumed its journey, with no casualties reported.

A separate drone hit the Chinese-owned cargo ship KSL Deyang, sailing under a Marshall Islands flag, as it headed to load iron ore at Pivdennyi port, a source said.

The vessel sustained minor damage, and the crew extinguished a fire caused by the strike, the source added.
