”This negotiation process took a long time. Various talks and consultations were held over the past weeks with the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar. A Qatari delegation was in Tehran yesterday to finalise discussions on the text of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. Nearly 14 to 15 hours of lengthy talks took place, during which we presented the Islamic Republic of Iran’s final amendments to the text. Naturally, those amendments were accepted, and the text of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding was finalised.”

”Two immediate developments were supposed to take place, and will take place, starting last night or in the early hours of today. First, the immediate and permanent end of the war and military operations on various fronts, including in Lebanon. As you saw, the statement announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan explicitly referred to the immediate and permanent end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. The second development was the lifting and end of the naval blockade that the United States had imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was also announced by the U.S. president in his statement.”

”This memorandum of understanding was reached despite our complete distrust of our enemies. We have no trust in the enemy. Our trust lies in our military strength, our diplomatic capabilities, and the support and unity of our own people. That is why the implementation of this memorandum of understanding is extremely important. We have specific plans in place to monitor the implementation of U.S. commitments under this memorandum."

10.(SOUNDBITE) (Farsi) AUDIO OF IRAN DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER, KAZEM GHARIBABADI, DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH IRINN NEWS ANCHOR, SAYING:

"During the 60-day negotiations, we have several issues to address. The first is the termination of all sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including unilateral sanctions, both primary and secondary, as well as the termination of United Nations Security Council resolutions and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions. All of these have been provided for in the draft text, under which the United States will bring all of them to an end. This is the key difference from previous U.S. commitments under earlier nuclear cooperation and sanctions-relief agreements. All sanctions will be lifted. So one subject of the negotiations is the termination and lifting of sanctions."
