STORY: Eyewitness video showed black smoke and fireworks exploding after the main stage of the Tomorrowland Festival in Boom, Belgium, caught fire on Wednesday (July 16).

“We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident,” organisers said in a statement shared on social media.

"Our beloved Mainstage has been has been severely damaged... We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday).”

The cause of the fire was not yet clear.

Local media reported a large number of emergency services at the scene and said local authorities advised residents to keep windows and doors closed.

Electronic musicians Anyma, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte and David Guetta were among the artists scheduled to perform on the main stage from Friday (July 18) to Sunday (July 20).
