Britain's Prince William and Princess Kate met the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, on Thursday (February 5).

Mullally was officially confirmed in January as the first woman to lead the Church of England as Archbishop of Canterbury in a traditional ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

With the Church facing questions over past safeguarding failures, she promised to lead an institution that "always listens to the voices of those who have been ignored or overlooked, among them victims and survivors of church abuse who have often been let down."
