Drone footage of volcanic Mount Etna captured a spectacular show of red lava flowing on Thursday morning (August 14).

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology announced that the lava flow occurred at an altitude of approximately 2,900 metres. No ash emission and no significant seismic variations were reported.

Etna, standing around 10,800 ft high and located above the Sicilian town of Catania, often erupts but rarely causes damage.
