J020-GAZA DISPAROS TANQUE

09 de octubre 2025 - 17:16

Deir al Balah, Gaza

Israeli tanks were seen firing on a crowded coastal path near Deir al-Balah in Gaza on Thursday (October 9) shortly after a ceasefire deal was announced.

The Reuters footage, filmed at 0939 GMT, shows explosions and smoke from tank shelling on an area close to where dozens of Palestinians are walking.

Footage captured by Al Jazeera in the same area shows two Israeli tanks, which the reporter describes as Merkava tanks, firing one shell each at a building metres from the road.

Palestinian people near the shelling site are then seen running in the direction of the camera.

Hamas and Israel both publicly endorsed the latest ceasefire deal and had been expected to sign it around noon in the Egyptian beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh (0900 GMT), though there was no immediate official confirmation that the signing had taken place.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the ceasefire would take effect once ratified by the Israeli government, which would convene after a security cabinet meeting scheduled for 5:00 p.m (1400 GMT).
