STORY: Ukrainians warmed up and charged their devices in decommissioned railway cars that had been converted into so‑called “invincibility points” in Brovary in Kyiv region on Wednesday (January 21), after recent Russian strikes had cut power and heating.

People charged devices and had hot lunches, while children from an acting class held a lesson there because their usual premises were too cold.

Children sat together in a train compartment, talked and rehearsed scenes with their teacher.

Mykhailo, 62, father of Ukrainian soldier, told Reuters that the temperature in their apartment had dropped to around 5 degrees Celsius.

Russia intensified its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in recent months, concentrating missile and drone strikes on the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro.
