STORY: Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy met with France's Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday (September 24) in New York.

Zelenskiy urged world powers to help stop Russia's war in his country while speaking to the United Nations earlier in the day, warning of a dangerous arms race that he said the fighting was unleashing.

The leaders are in New York for the U.N. General Assembly, which happens each September. The 193-member body hosts six days of speeches from nearly 150 heads of state or government, along with dozens of ministers.
