The Israeli military struck an apartment building in Gaza City on Wednesday (May 27), saying it had targeted two central Hamas militants in the northern Gaza Strip.

Health officials in Gaza said at least four people were killed in the strike on the building. The Israeli military said the operation was aimed at the militants, without immediately providing further detail.

The incident comes amid ongoing violence following an October truce. Since then, Gaza health officials say around 900 Palestinians have been killed, without distinguishing between fighters and civilians. Over the same period, the Israeli military says four of its soldiers have been killed by militants.
