U.S. President Donald Trump urged supporters to "pretend I'm on the ballot" and turn out to vote for Republican candidates during a campaign rally in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday (October 7), where several protesters were removed from the event.

Campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton, Trump repeatedly attacked Democratic opponent James Talarico and praised Paxton as "a fantastic man." He also encouraged voters to back Republican congressional candidate Carlos De La Cruz, telling the crowd that Republicans receive "48% more votes" when he is on the ballot.

The rally was interrupted several times by protesters, with several being escorted out by security.

Video showed some attendees pointing at demonstrators as they were removed, while Trump accused protesters of being paid by "enemies of our nation" and told any remaining protesters to "get the hell out of here."

Trump also touted Texas oil production and criticized Democratic-led states, drawing loud cheers from supporters packed into the venue. Paxton, who shared the stage with Trump, thanked the president for campaigning on his behalf and said Republicans would win the closely watched race.

In this election, I'm asking you to pretend. Remember? Pretend. You just have to pretend. Somebody said I'm forcing them. I'm not forcing. Pretended I'm on the ballot because we get a lot more votes. “For decades, Texas has been the state where people flee to escape the economic oppression and social collapse of Democrat run California, New York, Illinois and other failing blue states. But if ‘Talafreako’ and the ‘Dumocrats’ get their way, all of that squalor, misery, poverty, homelessness, you know, I said it the other day, when the blues get in, everything becomes dirty. The streets are dirty, the doorknobs going into stores are dirty.”

They got a little spunk left, but not much, not much. We, you know, we took out more oil out of the Hormuz Strait the last three nights than at any time in the history of the strait. We got more oil.”
